In relation to recent posts on social media published by animal rights activists witnessing horrible situation of animals in ZOO “Pionirska dolina” Sarajevo, we visited it and tried to see how it looks like. In general, our Association cannot be the most objective at this moment, given that our position is absolute freedom for all animals. We believe that zoos are not places where animals are happy. It is justified to keep them in sanctuaries or if they cannot return to their natural habitat. In order to improve living conditions of animals, we are planning to do an official visit to this zoo together with the Federal Veterinary Inspection as agreed at our meeting dating from previous month. If we manage to get the funds for the future, we would discuss the way of building cooperation with the zoo management with the aim of animal welfare.
